1. Introduction
Little Listener (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is designed to help monitor loud noise and play a locally saved voice message when configured conditions are met.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how that information is used, and what choices users have.
2. Information We Access
The App may access the following on your device:
- Microphone input, to monitor sound levels in real time
- Audio recordings created by the user, including:
- a kid voice sample stored for reference
- a parent voice message stored for playback
- Local device storage, to save those recordings on the device
3. How Information Is Used
The App uses microphone input only for the following purposes:
- Detecting sound amplitude in real time
- Determining whether the configured noise threshold has been met
- Triggering playback of a saved parent voice message
The App uses saved recordings only for the following purposes:
- Allowing the user to preview recorded audio
- Allowing the app to play the parent voice message when noise is detected
4. Data Storage
All recorded audio used by the App is stored locally on the user’s device.
At this time, the App does not upload recorded audio to a remote server as part of its core functionality.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data collected by the App with third parties.
The App does not intentionally transmit microphone recordings or saved voice clips to external services as part of normal use.
6. Permissions
The App requests microphone permission in order to:
- monitor live sound levels
- record user voice clips
If microphone permission is denied, some features of the App will not function.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App may be used in environments involving children, but it is intended to be configured and managed by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an online service or remote account system.
8. Data Retention
Recorded voice clips remain on the device until they are deleted by the user, removed through app uninstallation, or cleared by the operating system.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the App limited to local-device functionality where possible. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and users are responsible for protecting access to their own devices.
10. User Choices
Users may:
- grant or deny microphone permission through device settings
- record, replace, or delete saved voice clips within the App
- uninstall the App to remove app data from the device, subject to platform behavior
11. Third-Party Libraries
The App may use third-party software libraries to support features such as microphone access, audio recording, and audio playback. These libraries operate within the App and device environment to provide core functionality.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates should be reflected by revising the “Last updated” date at the top of this document.
